To be a peak performer, you need to perform at your best at all times, not just when you are on the playing field or when others are watching.
The playing field is so competitive at this time, if you slack off during practice and between practices, the person who is constantly improving will eventually beat you.
It does seem scary to hold yourself to such a high standard, and it also seems scary to think about the things you might have to sacrifice in order to perform at your highest potential.
Too bad, you have to courageously move forward if you want to win.
Raise Your Standards, Expect More from Yourself
It's important to raise your standards. If you don't, you are just admitting mediocrity is ok with you.
Being your best at all times would naturally entail checking in with yourself continually about how you're doing. In other words, mindfulness.
This is how you win.
